ASUS could launch its ZenFone 4 series of smartphones in May, according to sources from the company’s Taiwan supply chain. The news arrives via <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Digitimes</em>, who also suggests that ASUS is aiming to ship more than 20 million smartphones in 2017.</div>

Sources told <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Digitimes</em> that ASUS shipped around 17.5 million ZenFone smartphones in 2016, falling short of its 25 million projection (which had already been decreased from 30 million). <em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Digitimes</em> had previously reported ASUS was targeting yearly smartphone shipments in the region of 35-40 millio units.</div>
